THE COURSE

GOOD SPIRITS
A solid par 5 to get your round under way. Use the fairway bunkers for direction off the tee and stay left of the waste area with your second shot. A precise approach is required to negotiate this well guarded green. Par is a good score.

DEVIL'S HILL
Uphill all the way, this medium length par 4 will test your mettle. Finding the fairway off the tee is essential. Your second to this elevated green should not go long as there's trouble behind the green. Take your 4 and run!

DOWN HILL
Keep right of the large Oak but favour the left side of the fairway with your drive on this picturesque par 4. A good tee shot will give you a medium to short iron to this tricky green. Be careful as you drive down the hill to the fairway.

INFAMOUS SCOTTISH GLEN
Avoid the waste area on the right with your tee shot unless you want to have a go. The green is well guarded by cavernous bunkers so make sure you take enough club to reach the safety of the putting surface. It's uphill so add yardage!

(LITTLE MENACE)
There's trouble lurking everywhere on this short but treacherous par 3. Look at the flag on 7 to see what the wind is doing and club yourself accordingly.

(DON'T MESS ABOUT)
A 3 wood or long iron is prescribed on this hole. A well placed tee shot will offer a short approach from the crest of the "Hog's back". Keep your approach towards the centre of the green as anything missed left will kick towards the two deep bunkers and the burn while shots missed to the right will roll away into the long, sloping hollows.

(FURROW/DRAIN BRIDGE)
A dog-leg right that requires a well hit tee shot. Keep left off the tee to give you the best angle at this well protected green. Avoid the deep greenside bunker on the left and you will enjoy a fairly subtle putting surface.

BEAUTIFUL VIEW
Focus on hitting the green and then enjoy this spectacular view! Wind direction is very important on this tricky par 3 so good club selection is the key to hitting this green. Errant shots are likely to be gobbled up by the six sod wall bunkers surrounding the green.

BIG GORGE/RAVINE
Carry the ravine with your tee shot, keeping to the left of centre. Your second shot on this twisting, turning par 5 should be right of the large waste area and far enough from the green to give yourself a full shot from a level lie at this small unforgiving target. Don't miss this green to the left or long.

CARRICK'S BOG
A strong par 4 starts your back nine. The drive should be right of centre to give the best angle of attack at the green. The second shot should favour the left side of the green as danger awaits you in the waste area on the right. This green falls to the right and gently to the left.

OUT OF BREATH
This might be the toughest hole on the course. If you can draw the ball it will certainly be an advantage here. This narrow fairway sends the ball to the right where deep bunkers will capture any errant drive. The uphill second shot is also very exacting. With deep sod walls on the right and hollows on the left it demands your full attention to reach this small undulating green.

THE BEST 12-YEAR-OLD IN THE WORLD!
Avoid the 'spectacles' on the left off the tee. With a greensite tucked in a hollow, the second shot here is as demanding as the drive to a well defended green that sits at a intriguing angle. If the flag is in the back right portion a fade is the only shot that will get you close.

HOT PLATE
If you miss this green make sure it's to the left. This receptive green with waste area on the right and intimidating bunkers in front will penalize any miss hit shot. You'll be happy with a par 3 here.

GENTLE DRAW
For the best angle into this green the drive should be as close to the fairway bunkers as possible. Longer hitters may be able to carry them depending on wind direction. This long thin green offers some interesting options on the approach.

HAWK'S VALLEY
The longest par 3 at Eagles Nest! Pay attention to the yardage as the bunkers in the front left deceive the eye, foreshortening the hole. The green slopes severely from back to front so be careful when putting from above the hole.

GOOD HIT!
The first of back to back par 5's. While generous off the tee this hole will punish a miss hit second shot. Longer hitters may reach this hole in two but if you are laying up stay away from the waste area on the left. There is more room on the left beyond the sand than there appears, a better option than what awaits you if you miss right. This green slopes toward the water so be left of centre on your approach.

LONG
Aptly named, this "Long" par 5 offers you a split fairway. If you go down the right the risks are great but so is the reward! The right side shortens the hole considerably and may give you a crack at the green in two. The safer route is the left setting up a good view of what you have to do. Avoid the pot bunkers with your second shot to set up your approach to this well protected green.

We may have saved the best for last! This is a superb par 4 and you will be happy with a par here. If you are brave enough to flirt with the water you will have a shorter second to this demanding green. The safest route is towards the fairway bunkers on the left, leaving you a lengthy second. The right side of the green slopes severely towards the lake, so keep your approach left of centre.

The Heliport at Eagles Nest Golf Club

A unique feature at Eagles Nest Golf Club is it's Heliport, sitting high above the course, overlooking the stunning Clubhouse.
The heliport meets and exceeds the stringent design requirements set by Transport Canada and is published in the Canada Flight Supplement as a registered heliport.

The heliport is available as a convenient luxury for guests of Eagles Nest. Eagles Nest requires advanced notification by all air operators before any arrivals or departures will be permitted.
Eagles Nest Golf Club's Heliport features a large circular asphalt landing area with the Eagles Nest logo integrated with the aviation markings to provide visual guidance to pilots. The pad is lit with a series of inset green lights that outline the pad and clearly delineate the landing area during the evening and low visibility operations. In addition, the facility is serviced by a lighted windsock and floodlighting, to provide adequate lighting for the arriving guest, and a strobe beacon to assist pilots to pin-point the heliport from afar. As an added feature, Eagles Nest has also interconnected a lighted cart path for convenient transportation to and from the heliport and clubhouse.

Another unique feature of the facility is the option for pilots to operate the lighting systems remotely from their cockpits. Once activated, the lighting system remains energized for a prescribed amount of time before requiring re-activation by the pilot.
